The Senior AWS/Cloud Database Engineer is responsible for providing technical support for the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-based database systems.
This includes managing and optimizing databases, ensuring data security, problem-solving for high level database issues, developing automation tools, and working closely with development teams.
The ideal candidate is familiar with database technologies, cloud services, and has a problem-solving attitude.
Clearance: Must be U.S. Citizen to be eligible for DoD Secret security clearance
Core Work Hours: 7am - 4pm (EST) Monday – Friday, except Government Holidays
This is a remote position
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage databases and data delivery systems and transform them into insights, analysis, and reports.
- Create automation for repeating database tasks.
- Manage and optimize databases for maximum performance, efficiency, and quality.
- Ensure that all database systems meet business and performance requirements.
- Produce ad-hoc queries and develop reports to support business needs.
- Participate in data migration, data integration, and data conversion projects.
- Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required.
- Work closely with development teams for database design, implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance.
Qualifications
- US Citizen, eligible for DoD Secret Clearance
- 8+ years of proven work experience as a Cloud Database Engineer or similar role.
- Knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL.
- Experience with database design, documentation and coding.
- Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding.
- Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third party tools.
- Experience with AWS cloud services.
- Familiarity with programming languages API.
- Experience with ServiceNow FSM is a plus
